I recently got off the phone with a couple who expressed an interested in opening up a Companion Connection Senior Care agency.
The man, who had just been laid off from his job in the financial services industry, said he was through with working for others and dealing with the politics of a large organization. He wanted to flex his muscles as an entrepreneur and was looking for a fast-growing industry. He wanted a recession proof business opportunity.
At his fingertips, he had many of the same numbers we make available to interested parties: that there are 8.5 million people over age 70 in America with limitations in walking, dressing, bathing, shopping, paying bills and preparing meals, a number that analysts say will grow to over 20 million in the next quarter century.
I told him that he should also add to this the fact that Companion Connection Senior Care in just five years has more than 150 members generating revenues of an estimated $85 million.
The couple didn’t need much more convincing. There are no sure things in life, but they liked the manageable cost (compared to starting a franchise) and felt extremely comfortable that by having Companion Connection Senior Care walk them through the paces needed to start and operate a non-medical home care agency, they would succeed.
